About

From our estate in Coorg to your cup

Skiá comes from the Greek word for shade, and that is exactly how our coffee grows: under a canopy of native trees on our eight-acre estate in Nelji, in the hills of Kodagu (Coorg), at around 3,200 feet.

Shade-grown, the slow way

Our Arabica and Robusta grow beneath tall shade trees. The shade keeps the plants cool and lets the cherries ripen slowly, which builds sweetness and depth in the cup. The same trees shelter birds and keep the soil healthy.

Grown, processed and roasted by us

We pick ripe cherries by hand, process them on the estate (washed, natural and small fermented lots) and roast in small batches. Because we do every step ourselves, nothing is lost between the farm and your cup.

The kolam on every pack

Our logo is a kolam, the hand-drawn pattern that welcomes guests at doorsteps across South India. Ours is drawn with coffee beans, and it stands for the welcome we want every cup to carry.

Coffee you can trace

We record where each lot comes from and how it was processed, so you always know what is in your bag.

What we offer

  • Coffee powder: ground for South Indian filter and manual brewing – Skiá Mist (Arabica), Skiá Ember (Robusta) and Skiá Flow (with chicory).
  • Roasted beans: Skiá Mist and Skiá Ember as whole beans, medium roasted in small batches, to grind at home.
  • Green beans: specialty washed Arabica, specialty natural Robusta and commercial Robusta for home roasters, with bulk supply for roasters and cafés.
